Local reporter in Fort Mac shot an incredible time-lapse dashcam video of leaving the city (80,000 were forced to evacuate). Apparently many homes and businesses lost, but thankfully all reports so far are saying that everyone is safe.

My Aunt and Uncle lived there for about 4 years or so, just left there 2 years ago. They’re pretty concerned for their friends they left behind.
And guess where they moved - Houston. Man they can’t win.

Ugh yeah. I know lots of folks up there and my cousin worked as a reporter in Fort Mac for a while (thankfully now in Edmonton). Gonna be a hard road for a lot of folks, and they’ve been through a bad year with oil being so cheap lately.

Yep no excuse for that junky road considering how much $$$$ Alberta and the feds have pulled out of that town.

Yeah, the aunt and uncle I mentioned have 1 son who’s a wilderness fire fighter too, I’m wondering if he’ll be deployed there.

That’s incredible. It looks like they’re surrounded completely by fires :O
